I miss Heroes

Why is this delayed until late April? I mean, sure it will allow me to get more school work done in the waking hours, but that's a long time! What will happen to them all? Ack!

Insects to the rescue!

What is up with that? Scientists and possibly Homeland Security could use bees, cockroaches, and other creepy crawlies to detect yuckiness.

“Cockroaches can detect all kinds of things, from anthrax spores to DNA,” says Karen Kester, an entomologist at Virginia Commonwealth University. With $1 million in funding from the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa), Kester is studying ways to use roaches and houseflies as toxin sentinels inside contaminated buildings or subways.

it's flipping cold

I'm in Toledo for another week and a half and it's very cold. It snowed enough last night to get the snow plowing people out here this morning. Yippee. I miss Tejas.
