Another picture from those tornadoes

I saw this photo on a news site or yahoo's photo site and thought it was very interesting. With my fascination with light up baby plastic Jesuses, I thought this fit well.

This photo is surreal.

Jack again

Jack Johnson's new album came out this week, but this is a link to an older video of his ... Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.



The video is so cool. It's shot backwards and not all the words match the mouth, but many do. Also, there are long shots without cuts. I'm not sure how they did it, but it's very cool and fun to watch and the song hits home with me every time.

This decoupage experiment from Chris Glass's journal looks like a lot of fun and I already have a unused canvas laying around here somewhere ... oh yeah, I have the mod podge, too.


I'm trying to think if I've ever decoupaged anything ... we did one in girl scouts when I was young (many moons ago). It was of Jesus ... I think my mom still has it. I guess my gluebooks are kind of decoupaged too. Interesting. If I do this I'll post the pictures of it. I know I still need to post the pictures of gluebook number two and when I finish the third one I'll post that as well.

Miracle Baby and more from TN

There's a story from the tornado affected states (TN, AR, KY, MS) from this past week's tragedy. The last count was 56 people were killed from the different tornadoes and storms that hit these states. Here's the link to the story.

This 11 month old baby survived being tossed from his home during one of the tornadoes. They found him in a field about 150 yards from his home. The field had been checked once, but they missed him at first. He was almost missed the second time because they thought he was a doll.

Although this is amazing, there's another part that cracked me up. It was the tale of James Krueger. He was working on a home when the tornado hit. I'll let the story tell itself:

There were countless stories of people relieved to be alive. James Krueger, a 49-year-old electrician, opened the door to look out of the 100-year-old home he was restoring and the wind sucked the door from his hand. He dived onto the ground "as if I was sliding into first." The house was pulled out from under him - and when it was over, he was on bare ground.

"It was like God was holding my leg and beating the (expletive) out of me for everything I've done in my life," said Krueger, of Lafayette. "Maybe I tried to question God too many times, but the bottom line is something kept me there."

It was like God was holding my leg and beating the ... what a perspective! It made me laugh. I'm glad he's okay.

How About Orange? The Blog!

I got this cool desktop wallpaper from the blog "How about orange." It's one of the coolest blogs I've come across so far. The fact that the author of the blog, Jessica Jones, loves orange has nothing to do with it ... or not. ;)

This place has all sorts of colors from all sorts of paint companies that you can look up and buy 16 oz. samples from (any color!). Very cool. If I was going to paint something bold, I'd definitely try this out first.
